

At that rate of progression, Book 3 should take four months. The second book, Amber R oad, took only four years. It took fifty (yes, 50) years between scrawling the first chapters at college and actually publishing my first historical novel, Roma Amor. The two of us battled through a hurricane, a full gale, and sub-freezing temperatures before returning home. I volunteered as cook (my specialty: Chicken Rice-A-Roni). I met a fellow who was looking for crew to help him sail his 35-foot sloop from Maine to the Bahamas. My side gig in the meantime was writing a novel about Ancient Rome. I’ve always been a writer-first on a New York magazine, then at an advertising agency, and eventually as owner of my own freelance financial writing business, Sherry Christie the Writer.
